Kathleen Simon, 2011 RRTN XStudio Intern, is a junior at Brockton High School, Brockton, MA, and she has always been in the top 16% of her class. Kathleen, a high achieving student, has been on the Honor Roll since sixth grade. She will be taking courses such as Honor’s English, Physics, and History this coming year. She enjoys studying mathematics and appreciates its simplicity. She grasps it easily.
In the future she aspires to open a medical clinic in Haiti for young people. Kathleen is a good listener and passionate about learning , especially on the topics of medicine, technology and education.
At RRTN, Kathleen is researching preventative dental hygiene in immigrant youth in Brockton and the development of RRTN’s nodal network at global educational institutions in Africa, the Caribbean, and the USA.
During her free time, she enjoys reading teen novels, writing, surfing the web, and spending time with friends. She speaks fluent Haitian Creole, English, and is learning Spanish.
