Amanda Leonard is a 2011 RRTN intern and a junior at Brockton High School, Brockton, MA, who ranks in the top 2% of her class. She is also enrolled in three International Baccalaureate courses.
Amanda plans to own a design business. Her programmatic goals include becoming a strong speaker and gaining confidence in a public setting. She would also like to explore possible career choices.
As an RRTN intern she wants to learn about technological design, how to manage programs and create marketing materials for the program. Amanda has ideas to make it easier for the public to access information. She would like to use advertisement and design to make the program more attractive and more popular. She would also like to expand her studies in American History to include African American history in technology and transportation while at RRTN.
Amanda is a competitive dancer and performer and volunteers at Gina Kinsella’s Onstage Dance Studio. She assists her aunt who is a receptionist at a psychiatric practice. Outside of academics she enjoys fantasy novels and art. She particularly excels at drawing and she is considering it as a possible career.
