Christopher Luna has been very ambitious since his younger years in high school. From an early age, he was interested in software engineering and web design . He has designed websites, written programs, and taught programming to students since elementary school. While in high school, Chris’s comfort with technology led him to found a small web design business.
In his spare time, Chris, helped to repair neighborhood computers and volunteered his time at a local technology donation and repair center, SMARTCO. He was able to keep irrepairable computers and computer parts. From these parts, he assembled working computers in his basement and hosted regular LAN parties to game with his colleagues from school.
During school, Chris would push limits in an attempt to expand his knowledge . He took as many AP classes as possible. By the end of his high school career he had amassed a record 13 AP Exams with an average score of 4 out of 5. This qualified him for National AP Scholar with Merits for two years straight – an honor that is typically awarded to few students only in their senior year.
Chris loves to read biographies, philosophy, and psychology. After reading their biographies, he decided that Nikola Tesla and Theodore Roosevelt, would be his role models. After being accepted into MIT, Chris has changed his focus more and more to psychology, psychotherapy, and neuro- and cognitive science.
Today, Chris works with the nonprofit organization, the Robert R. Taylor Network, Inc. at MIT. He leads the technology design and development team and helps to both identify and nurture gifted and high potential students that participate in the numerous advanced technology and entrepreneur programs that RRTN offers.
